Introduction

Art is a beneficial method for enhancing healing and well-being.

It is founded on the belief that creativity can be developed and nurtured through practice and experience, and that everyone has the potential to be creative in some way.

We like to place emphasis on the process of creating art, rather than the final product and on the insights and emotions that can be gained through the act of creating art. It can aid in self-expression, communication, problem-solving, stress relief, and healing promotion.

How can art help?

We support the client in understanding their art, interpreting it and drawing connections to their experiences and emotions.  This process of self-reflection and understanding can be particularly helpful for those who may be struggling with unresolved emotions or past experiences.

Additionally, the support worker will help the client understand when and how to use artmaking as a form of stress reduction, a way to empower themselves, and as a form of insight and understanding.

No extra funding needed!

Participating in artistic activities is used within our normal supports, so you don't need any other documentation to access.

Our support workers are trauma informed and work with the client to find the best artistic discipline to support the individual.

Whether it be painting, drawing, crocheting, weaving or jewellery making, we have the right person to support you during the process.
